Firefox and CSS

Am I doing something wrong, or does Firefox have a few problems with CSS?

I can't seem to get images to center in Firefox. I am using this:

img.vert { vertical-align:center }





 with





<img src="images/image.gif" class="vert" />

IE and Opera have no problems with this, but as soon as I increase the table width to a number larger than the size of the image Firefox drops the image to the bottom of the field.

Any suggestions?

The vertical-align property requires middle, not center, according to http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/visudet.html#propdef-vertical-align

The other browsers are more forgiving.

Whoa, thanks, but it still doesn't seem to want to work in Firefox.

vertical align in CSS is only for inline elements, there are a few hacks to get it to work though.

The most common is to style it as a tablecell.

But there is a problem with table cells under IE7. If I remember correctly.
