I am looking to add a picture gallery, and picasa seems to be great since I wouldnt have to store the files on my site.
has anyone had any luck to get this to work with rn? The directions that come with mod i found seems to be out of date. It seems to show the block, but will not see the gallery.
for those that have used this, it tells you to change user.name and the only place i seen this was the index file.
this is where I found the mod..http://www.ewebsite.biz/ and i seen a couple of post here, but there was no real setup info.
thanks for any insight |

I believe Guardian may have a working Picasa module. Hopefully, he will see this. |

Wow! This is really slick! I think this is definitely going to be more popular in the future, especially given the growth of services like Picasa and others like it.
Some questions / suggestions:
- the size causes problems under certain themes (it blocks right blocks)
- a slideshow function would be great
- any way to pick random photos (e.g. for a block)?
I'll have to dive deeper into the code to see what other possibilities it could provide. Well done, G! |

You might be able to apply a tweak to the js call in the index file to sort out the width problem in certain themes.
I must admit, I did not test every scenario as it was specifically for one of my sites but released it after a number of requests from others who had full blown galleries installed and got hacked through some issue or other.
Regrettably, I just have not had time to do more with it as I wanted to move away from js and use some public PHP classes to make a sort of universal gallery to hook into the various API's available like Flickr, Picassa etc. |

That's a great idea! It isn't urgent for me, but I will gladly help when I have the time. |

well i went to the site i originally dl the mod and installed it without making any changes to see if it would load their photos, and it worked...then i changed the name to the one i setup and it is now working for me. Cannot figure out why, but it is.....
I would still like to see yours to see what is different, but wanted to let you know that i did get their version to work |

I've got the picasa module working in RN 2.30.
Edit the line:
username = 'your.username'
in index.php. Substitute your.username with the name of your picasaweb user.
Works like a charm for me
