He is in the navy and was doing his PT run which they do every other day while on hold, when he developed a pain in his chest. He dropped out of the run and was walking seeing if he could get to feeling better. Thank God it happened where it did, but he was right in front of the base hospital. He still wasn't feeling right, so he walked up the sidewalk and entered the hospital and after 3 or 4 steps in the door, his arms and legs went numb. He knelt down on one knee and the next thing he knew he was flat on his face, and shaking. He could hear the people talking to him and working on him, but could not respond to them or move. Of course a battery of tests were performed through the day and evening. One cat scan showed a possibility of something, but the staff told him they didn't think it was anything major but wanted it checked out. So Tuesday he goes to specialist in the area for an echocardiogram. They will also be putting him through a stress test. All his blood work came back good so far.
His career is now on the line. He has worked trememdously hard the last 14 months to get where he is and now it could all be gone. He is really down about all of it. He loves doing what he has been doing and could not wait for his next stop which was suppose to be Pearl Harbor since he graduated #1 in his class. This young man sure has had his fair share of tests in life already and now is facing this one. It just seems so unfair. One of those times when I look up and asked why? |

We are sorry to hear this. We will certainly be praying for him.
The fact that he was where he was shows the wonderfulness of our Lord and Savior! God is loving and merciful even when, "for the present," He allows trials and sufferings to come in our lives. We have our plans for our lives and God has His . I certainly never planned to be where I am right now. I don't know all the reasons why but I am still listening to that "still, small, voice" and I know that He is always near.
“For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose” ( Romans 8:28 ). |

Psalm 91:9-10, 14-16
If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge-- 10) then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name 15) He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16) With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Proverbs 4:20-23
My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. 21) Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22) for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. 23) Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. |

Unit1,
I am overwhelmed right now within my soul. After knowing Jesus Christ as my Savior for over 29 years I still am amazed at how He can get my attention. I know your primary purpose with your post is to give comfort and admonition to FireATST and his family. The Scripture you quoted has brought some very needed peace to my soul that I was in need of today! And in doing so, I am reminded by Isaiah from Chapter 55 verse 11 that when God's Word goes forth it "shall accomplish that which He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sends it". I will print the entire chapter as there is much comfort for me in it all, but I emphasize verse 11 as the purpose of my reply and to thank you .
Isaiah 55:1-13
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. |

I am happy that in some small way I have helped you today through his words.
He (God) comforts us whenever we suffer. That is why whenever other people suffer, we are able to comfort them by using the same comfort we have received from God. (2 Corinthians 1:24
That is why we are not discouraged. Though outwardly we are wearing out inwardly we are renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16)
He will heal FireATST and his family during this time of trial for them and to his son I want to say thank you for keeping us safe. This is one of them quotes I love to use (If you cannot stand behind our troop’s then feel free to stand in front of them) FireATST Thank him for his service to this country for me |

Thanks Raven for bringing me back to solid ground, I was angry over all of this and your words allowed me to see that God does have a plan through all of this, and it may not line up with ours, or be easily seen, but I know His is the best.
Unit1, I really liked your quote and will have to remember it. I will pass along your message. Thank you. |

He just called and let us know that he had an echo done and everything looked normal. Visit with the specialist in Rhode Island was good. They don't know why it happened and still are doing some further testing, including a stress test tomorrow. They want him to put on some body fat.....lol....I can probably give him some of mine, but he is really low. He was uplifted today by the results and he hopes he can continue on. |
