Cannot Add Downloads

I have recently upgraded to 2.3. Everything is working fine except downloads. I cant add any new downloads to the database via the admin panel. When I try it looks like it has uploaded, but then when I go to downloads there is nothing there. So far I have had to add the downloads directly to the database via mysql admin panel.

I have searched the forum and couldn't see any answers to this.

Go into rnconfig.php and find $error_reporting.

Set it to $error_reporting = E_ALL;

Then see if you get any errors when adding a download.

No errors just said New Download added, but still nothing

I just tried it and it works.I suppose somethin is wrong with your path or download name or whatever. Check the status of your download in the administration.

nope nothing wrong with the file path...even if it was it would normally add the download, just when you tried to download it there would be no file

Do you have many subcategories and downloads ? There was one entry about a similar issue but I can´t find it again.

Just thought I would check, is error reporting turned on in the config.php file as well?

flid, the core RavenNuke(tm) Download module does not have a file upload capability, so when you say "upload" we need to understand what you really mean, OR, are you talking about a different Download module than what came with the distro?

The core provided module requires you to manually FTP the file to a specific directory and then when you add the download to the database, you give it the appropriate path to that uploaded file.

ok i'll expalin

I upload files and images via ftp to my server.
then i go into my site admin and go to the downloads admin section and fill in all the information to add a new download. ie file path, name etc, then i click the button to add it to the database, but its not there.

there is no option to add a download via member section.,.....and also no place to turn on the function

Sure you need to check the file d_cofing.php

Did youe ever tried to use an other folder or an other category to upload your downloads ?
What is with your downloads administration and there

"Check ALL Downloads" is the path correct or broken ?

Right I did this and the add download function appeared in the downloads area. I tried submitting a download myself and it came up and said thank you for your download etc.

Its not in the area to accept it by the admin, nor is it in the downloads area itself.

It just seems as if its not adding it to the database :S

Please can you turn on database logging in rnconfig.php and make sure that the dblog file in rnlogs is made writable.

In rnconfig.php find $loglevel = 0; and set it to 1.

Then find the dblog file in the rnlogs directory and set it's properties to 777.
