Dear Members of the Ravenphpscripts community,

I desperately try to translate the RN 2.30 release to Hungarian. My new website is at http://www.laszlotamas.hu/uj/

I have translated the main language files but the dates at the Old Articles (Régi cikkek) block and in the News posts in the middle of the homepage are in English (I mean month and day names) - scroll down a little bit... Where should I look for a solution? I have searched in all the files of the RN 2.30 distribution (html folder + all subfolders) for January and Monday but it did not help: the search results show me that these strings can be found in the /language folder in lang_english.php but not in lang_hungarian...

Thanks for your help!

Mikla

You need to copy lang_english, translate it incl. month names in your language select in the administration your language and it should work.
Beside this you can always change the date for example to:
define('_DATESTRING','%d.%m.%Y @ %T %Z'); or whatever you like. This will only change the news.

When you are done translating be sure to post it here or email Raven Smile

Thanks a lot, this is a very useful information.
I have already contacted Raven offering him (and this community) my translated distribution. I need to do some refinement, that may take a few weeks...

The month names in the lang_hungarian.php are already in Hungarian, but I guess it appears in English because of the built-in date() function.

Thanks for the another tip, I'll try.

What are your settings in the administration under locale time format ?
Just hu or hu_HU ?
Maybe search on google there are scripts available to find out what locale settings your server prefers.

I tried it and it seems to work with fisubice at my testsite.

The only thing I translated in the new language file was the month name and I changed the preferences to hu_HU.

I just don´t have enough articles to show it in the block old articles but soon there will be a few. Smile

Did you tried it with an other theme already ?

The blolck old articles works also like it should.
The only thing I noticed are wrong short urls because there seems an issue with the month name.At the top of stories archive its: Janu 2009:
shorturl:

archive-2009-01-Janu.htmlár

While "Please select the month you want to see" in Stories Archive shows the correct month name:

* Január, 2009

I believe this isn´t so hard to fix.

Susann do you know if this happens with the Spanish language as well? I would assume so, but I am not sure. Defiantly something we need to look at in regards to shortlinks.

We need to make a mantis issue if we can confirm a problem with characters like "á" etc.

Dear Susann,

I tried fisubice but I get the same problem: month names in English. I'll try the method with the new time() function to display Hungarian date format. In which php file should I add that code?

Thanks for all your generous help.

@Palbin I have only articles since this month and spanish works:archive-2009-01-Enero.html but there are other issues with and I will add an entry in Mantis.

@Mikla I don´t know why it doesn´t work for you if your settings are all correct.Mine works perfectly wonderful with hu_HU . I suppose you can change it in language/lang_hungarian but I´m not absolute sure.
