Wow, looks like I'll have to go over their terms again as I wasn't aware of that. |

That's right. Someone who's a member here had it happen to them. I don't recall who at the moment, but I do remember it happening. I'm trying to do fund raising for my site now and have alot of neat stuff for a "giveaway" but can't do it because of that. I'm looking to find something small for them to purchase, and that purchase make them elgible for the drawing, maybe you could do something like that. |

I'm surprised, a major tech site I visit often did that for their holiday raffle. Of course all the $10 entries were considered a donation to something.. so I guess maybe it was non-profit? |

I'm not sure if they were not profit or not, I don't even remember for sure who they were. I just figured they were trying to raise funds to keep their site going, which is what I wanted to do with an auction mod...give people an incentive to donate. But payapal has something in their TOS that prohibits you form having any type of raffle. |

Yes, that was me. I had to disable my module and put in one without the paypal payments. It was really a shame. Paypal will immediatly suspend your account if you use your paypal for anything called raffle or giveaway. It is strictly prohibited by their TOS. I did not know that until it was too late. It was quite a mess to fix.
Evaders, that site you mention most likely did get past it by calling the entry fee a donation but even then, I would be careful as if someone went to paypal to complain it can be terminated. |

I know I ain't taking any chances. Last giveaway I did was for free, I just added a page after they signed up saying that by making a donation it would continue to allow me to have such things for giveaways, but that making a donation in no way increased your chance of winning. I picked up a few donations that way, and figured that it was not accepting money for a raffle. |
