I just installed a local version of 2.30.1 and something weird going on that I haven't figured out yet but I am posting about it to let you know.

Well first odd thing was imediatley after install I am blocked from site for INVALID IP? Ok no worries turned off the invalid IPCheck. However the first thing I try to do is login to site (as reg user version of admin) Ok so I login via the default block and it shows a not normal user info page. (about 4 - 6 lines of user info, name etc, instead of the YA page as usual) but as soon as I click any link I am logged out again. So I log in again now I see the usual your account page. I click a link and now I am logged out again. Everytime I login as soon as I click a site link (be it in the header menu or the Block Menu) I am logged out again????

I will be trying to figure this one out but if anyones seen this behavior before tips are most welcome!

Well I don't know why yet but it refuses to save the user cookie for some reason? It saves the admin cookie when I log into admin but not the user cookie. I get the following cookies

RNYA_test1 thru 4
PHPSESSID
lang
admin

d*** user cookie just refuses to show up though?

UPDATE

I dunno how or why this happened yet but my users_config table was installed with the normal prefix and not the users prefix which I had set different for each. Looking thru the YA files I noticed they where using the user prefix for the users_config table so I manually changed the name in my db to reflect the users prefix and all seems well. So I suggest adding to your "ToDo" list to check the install sql and correct it to use user prefix and not prefix when installing.

This has been corrected, but not released yet.

No. It was done here for SEO reasons. This is the way browser/cookies work. You can add a directive in your htaccess file to redirect to the www url. There may be something in sentinel that does this.

Short of me goggling hit I am not sure what you need to add to your htaccess file. Maybe one of the other guys can add his thought Smile

Ok so I am confused Smile

What can I change on my site to allow the cookie to work on both www.domain.com and domain.com ? Is that fixed ? Is that "the fix" mentioned ?

Go into Nuke Sentinel and set Force Nuke URL: to YES. It will be on the first page.

This will force your users to the url that you have set in your site Preferences. Meaning if you have have http://www.yoursite.com set in Preferences it will redirect someone coming from http://yoursite.com to http://www.yoursite.com.

The opposite would be true if you have it set the opposite way.

I also get RNYA_test1 through RNYA_test4 for both admin and regular user. When I click on some links it shows me as not logged in. If a login is required for that link, it redirects me to the Your_Account page (or admin login page). If I hit the browser's back button, it shows me as logged in. I try the link again and no problems. I haven't changed any prefixes. I set set Force Nuke URL: to YES but it hasn't made any difference. How can I fix this issue? Thanks.

Edit 8/22/09: Okay, so I guess this is a Firefox problem. I am seeing lots of posts in forums where people are saying they don't stay logged in on any site. Some can't log into sites. I am really disliking this latest Firefox update. I wanted to downgrade but I read older issues have exploits.
