Images won't show in sigs

My members signatures will only show text, no images show at all whether they use html or bbcode. They wont work if I try to put them in manually in the ACP either. All you can see is < a> and < /a> (gaps here so you can see the tags used).

I've got html and bbcode allowed, put the allowed html tags in and everything.

One one site it works perfectly, on the other site it won't work at all. Yet both sites are set up exactly the same, on the same host and have the same hosting package. Both are the latest version of RavenNuke.

Any ideas?

What theme are you using? If you are using a theme that does not come with the RN package try one that does and see if it works.

I know you said you set the allowed tags but did you set them in the forum or in the config file? They need to be set in the forum admin area. If you did I'm just checking Smile

Are you trying to set the signatures from within Your_Account or from the forum profile? Currently bbcode will only work when editing your signature from the forum profile. If you want to use html from your account you need to make sure you have it allowed in both rnconfig.php and the forums as well.

Hi I'm using RavenICe theme.

I set the allowed tags in the forum admin area, forum configuration.

Tried both Your Account and forum profile, neither work.

Haven't touched the rnconfig.php file. I didnt realise I had to edit that too. Which part needs editing in there please?

You mention images up in the original post, however, you then reference anchor tags. What your complete HTML that you are trying to post in the signature and do you truly have the tags both in the config.php allowed array AND the forums configuration allowed tags?

I'll start again

My members on one site want to put banners in their sigs and they use either html code or bbcode given on photobucket, flickr etc image hosting.

All that shows whether the code is bbcode or html is the <a> and </a> tag or [img] and [/img] No link inbetween those tags shows at all just the first and last tags.

This occurs whether the signature code is put in via My Account or from forum Profile links.

I've allowed both bbcode and html in the forum and put the allowed tags in the 'allowed tags' box in the forum config in ACP.

I dont know what I'm supposed to put in config.php regards allowed tags as I haven't edited that file, as I dont know where or what to edit.

On my other site which is set up identically and I've not edited any files on there either, images do show in signatures when members enter either html or bbcode.

Hope that explains whats happening better.

The site where signature images won't show also has another problem, which is the news articles. You can't set it to less than 10, and when you get to the tenth article you get 11 on the page, then 12 and so on.

This site was hacked originally before the security update some while back when it was posted on here that there was a major security hole, I upgraded to the newest version of RavenNuke but still had problems due to the hacking and someone on here had my ftp info and got it working properly. I think it was Anne??? A german lady. My site and post on here at that time was the first one post and first site hacked and it was found then that there was a major security leak in the code.

I'm wondering if the news article thing and the images in signatures not showing are somehow something to do with when it was hacked before upgrading to the latest version of Ravennuke?

As the other site I run, which was also upgraded but not hacked works perfectly.

try disabling html and see if bbcode works with the html disabled.

Already tried that, still only get the bbcode tags and no url inbetween.

what is an example of the html code you are trying to post as a sig? Oh, and I successfully posted a sig on your site Smile

I just saw your signature showed up. Weird.

I copied the code you used and put the url of my image in instead, and the sig now shows.

Example

(without stars of course lol)

I can show people how to post their sig images now. Thanks for that. Much appreciated

I wonder why on my other site you can just put the normal code in that photobucket give and sig images work yet not on the poultry site. Very odd. Don't understand that.

you may get better results editing the sig from forums -> edit profile than from the Your Account module. I know it was buggy before RNYA and not sure what all the RN team has done there; considering phpbb2 is near its end in RN.
