hi

one of our inexperienced admins was messing round in our site Cpanel and messed up our site and our site Hosts Hostpapa discovered the mySQL table was corupted.

this is what we get on our hom site
Image

now the thing is i made a backup but my PSU was faulty and fried the computer my backup and everything else was on ...yeah major bummer.

but i moved the topics/posts/ and everything else i could which was a task in itself, and put it in an undamaged installation.

will this fix the problem or is there an easier way to test it ?

Have you tried running a REPAIR on all damaged tables and see if MySQL will fix itself?

ok i saved it WooT

in the interest of giving back here is what i did incase it happens to anyone else, i know it may sound complicated to a new user but trust me it will help. if you follow what i say....if im wrong i`m sure it will be pointed out to me lol.

backed up damaged mySQL database like so since mine is so big

everything in one mySQL file before these if needed

nuke_bbposts --------------on its own
nuke_bbposts_text --------on its own
nuke_bbprivmsgs----------on its own
nuke_bbprivmsgs_text-----on its own

everythng after that last group upto AND NOT including
SENTINEL in one Saved MySQL File ,
as Sentinel can be added on its own with the Raven install srcipt

everything from nuke_optimize_gain to nuke_wiw_m
you can always split the 3 larger saved file if you need to at a later time

after that
backup this first group below each individualy to install to a Brand new installed Database using the Raven install script

nuke_bbauthors
nuke_author_access
nuke_bbcatagories
nke_bbforums
nuke_bbgroups
nuke_bbposts
nuke_posts_text
nuke_privmsgs
nuke_privmsgs_text
nuke_bbtopics
nuke_bbusrs_group

and your nuke downloads if you have any
nuke_links_catagories
nuke_links_links
nuke_modules
nuke_pages
nuke_page_catagories
nuke_topics
then nuke_Users

this works for me
obviously if you have add-on which add to you database then include them
in your backup
delete the MySQL table then re-add the old to the New installed directory

so for example
delete nuke_posts then Import the old nuke_posts to the new database
it should as in my case restore the damaged Database as if nothing happened when you have finished, just remember to FTP all the new Raven files and then add to it the Add-on Modules you had installed
to folders if the files have been deleted by accident,
/admin
/images
/includes
/modules
/themes if you got you r own theme installed
and delete the ones you dont want if that the way you had it

i tried to make it as new user friendly as possible

i learnt what i know from Raven and the rest of the guys here over the last 3 years so Big KUDOS for that. without your help this would`nt have been possible for me on my own.

i always run a Xamp instal with the exact same setup as on a live server.
Xamp help can be found here on the forum if you use the search at the top.(thanks montego Wink )

For importing a large sql file you can use BigDump
It is really easy to use.

bugsTHoR, Great job and thanks so much for reporting back with the details! Where you said nuke_wiv_m , did you mean nuke_wiw_m ? If so (and it's a very MINOR nit) you needn't back it up, nor any memory tables for that matter, because they are destroyed and rebuilt upon every new invocation.
