I am not offended easily. Been around too long. I will, on occasion, respond/react to falsehoods and personal attacks. Concerning RavenNuke(tm) and all other Portals/CMS applications: I and the RavenNuke(tm) Team (referred hereafter as the Team) have, basically, the following goals:
1.) To provide a reliable, functional, current, and secure CMS/Portal type application.
2.) To utilize, as much as possible, blocks, modules, and themes that meet the goal of #1.
3.) To develop added functionality as warranted that meets the the goal of #1. We will not add something just to keep up with or to be like application X. We do not want be seen as just another copycat.
4.) To keep the Core functionality to a minimum and allow the individual user(s) to add to the core as they see fit. In other words to prevent bloat.
5.) To engage and support the nuke community as a whole with our main focus on RavenNuke(tm).
6.) To recognize that all Team members contribute their time and expertise as they can. Their jobs and family have to come first.
7.) To release code and code updates as internal plans are built and achieved. Plan the work and Work the plan!
8.) To not rush out code fixes unless it is critical as in security issues or issues that prevent correct installation/functioning. If it's just a quick fix then we will probably just leave it in the forums until our next release.
9.) To not compete with anyone directly. Adjectives like "best", "most advanced", etc., or any superlative is not how we see nor describe our product. Others may, we don't/won't.
10.) To encourage people to try RavenNuke(tm) for many reasons. We see Security and Support as the 2 basic building blocks to take us from where we are to where we are going.
11.) To support other applications and efforts of others as we do NOT see these as competition. The Internet playground is very large with room for everyone. However, we do reserve the right, just as they do, to be selective in what we support.
This list is by no means inclusive. These are just off the top of my head. If you have words of praise for another distro then you do not owe me/us apologies. However, bashing RavenNuke(tm), whether directly or indirectly, will cause a reaction . The main purpose of this site is for the advancement of the RavenNuke(tm) product. If we sense that there are trolls/troublemakers/etc. lingering then we will take whatever action is necessary. I've only had to do that maybe 5 times in 7 years but I did want to mention it. |

Back to the original topic. It is too bad PCNuke is gone. They were the last group to keep coppermine going. I believe they understood it's important to have good media modules and blocks, and for gallery and photos coppermine is the best hands down I for one don't believe RN will ever have the same fate, although nothing last for ever |

Who is in charge of coppermine now? It was always my favorite and I wouldn't mind picking it up, possibly, |

That is really funny! I guess a good indicator that a project has made it is when you come to this |

I was beta tester on the Maximus-BS , but let down because the scripting was going too fast.
Latest version of Maximus2008 came out in november.

You need an account to download. One of the milestone of their CMS is the ability to have 3 layers of modules , the maximus modules , the $db and the $dbi which is disabled by default. However it's really hard to use and I never got the hang of it. They try to make it user friendly but it's hard.
here is an example of a running site http://www.gymaweb.com/
@R,I hopefully won't be part of them. |
