So clan themes has owned the domain phpnukedownloads.com for what seems like forever to me, but anyway we finally decided to do something with it.

I know its really hard to form a real opinion considering most of the site is off limits during maintenance, but the about page gives a pretty good idea of what we would like to accomplish. The project as of now has no official publish date, but its surely in progress.

http://www.phpnukedownloads.com/about/

It is a really big project and we are currently recruiting the interested. Maybe, the only requirement atm is previous wordpress knowledge and the desire for something better. I believe with some work it could be a nice resource for everyone.

I switched the host a few days ago, so if the about page does not contain much information you might want to open up a command prompt window (run -> cmd) and flush your dns cache (ipconfig /flushdns).

You can't see it, but the site has lots of categories and I believe is very well structured for no matter what your flavor of nuke with the intent of making resources very easy to find.

Thoughts if any...

I am definitely interested in seeing how this unfolds.

It is gonna be time consuming at first for sure. I have turned maintenance mode off if you want to start browsing around. Still got a long way to go with categories and content submission, but the general concept is in place.

As of now a problem I am running into for general setup is category structure. I don't want to get to deep with categories, but I want to separate what is for what.

Other than that, progress is being made. If you have any thoughts I am always open for suggestions.

floppydrivez, I had a similar idea for theme demos (http://themes.fornuke.com - work in progress) and addons (http://addons.fornuke.com - not developed). Guardian developed a site for reviewing Nuke addons (http://nuke-reviews.com/).

Obviously, I agree that this is a good idea. Very helpful for people looking for pre-built improvements for RavenNuke(tm) and PHP-Nuke.

Also, there have been some Nuke directories in the past, but I would probably be useful for something like that, too.

As for addons, my thought is to show which distributions the addon work with, current version, a link to a demo, if available, and other things to help site admins understand how it works, how well it's supported, etc.

kguske, that is excellent advice. I would like to roll all those sites up in one. That would be fantastic.

Excellent advice as usual. Quality structure is important and I got a few more odds / ends to tighten up.

Good input, thanks.
