Ok , I know RN 2.4 doesn't work on 5.3 because of all the deprecated functions inherited from previous versions of php.

But this puzzles me Smack . I turned error_reporting to true. But I don't know why the form is showing up weird Sad ie. It's showing error inputs in the selection? lol
Error_reporting to false corrects it , but nonetheless puzzling

RN should work fine on PHP 5.3 (not 100% certain). I don't think any function are actually depreciated. There are just warnings so people can prepare for PHP 6.

Those notices should not affect the functionality of the site. If displayed they may affect the functionality of the site if they are displayed inside of a html tag, like nay other notice/warning would.

You will see the warning but the script will still work. Just set error to false unless your coding.

I did something different instead because I needed errors to true. In Rnconfig.php I added ^E_DEPRECATED to remove the level of error. I don't recommend putting it in php.ini because you'll forget it.

Yes RN 2.4 works fine on 5.3 just these Notices and Depreciations.
My host wants to switch on 5.3 in November , just thought you'd know he has a system in which a user can actually chose his version oh php.

Quote:
XXxxxXXX has implemented a unique server setup that allows each customer to choose which version of PHP to use for his / her account. What is more, the customer can even use different PHP versions for different directories in one and the same hosting account. The PHP versions currently supported are: PHP 5.0, PHP 5.1 and PHP 5.2 (the latest stable branches).

In order to change the PHP version for your account, follow these steps. Go to cPanel, File Manager and choose "Web Root (public_html/www)". There create a new file (or edit the existing one) called .htaccess containing the following line:

To switch to PHP 5.0:

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php .php5 .php4 .php3

To switch to PHP 5.1:

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php51 .php .php5 .php4 .php3

To switch to PHP 5.2:

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php52 .php .php5 .php4 .php3

This setting will apply recursively to all of the subdirectories. In case you'd like to have a different version of PHP in a subdirectory, create a new .htaccess file in it with the directive for the desired PHP version in it.

Yeah, I wish more hosts would be progressive like this. It is not that difficult to do. What would really make it truly get incorporate I think would be if cPanel would get on board with this approach. Let it come out of the box with multiple versions and they keep them up-to-date. More hosts may be willing to run with it that way.
