What the West needs to know about Islam

As the subject says "What the West needs to know about Islam".
There is a link to a video further on which anyone who has a religious viewpoint should watch (really!!) - it's an hour or so long, so get comfortable.

I had always taken it at face value when people said things like "Islam is a peaceful religion" but I think I'm just not your average sheep and decided to do some reading of my own, out of curiosity if nothing else. Part of my research turned up the link to the video (below), which pretty much sums up what I found.
I'll let the video be my own synopsis.
I have always maintained a view that "every man should have a right to practice his or her own religion" but now, my opinion has changed and for me at least, it's a profound change that has made me question a lot more things than I want to.

I hate to say it but combining those two video's paints one very scary picture!

The Koran like the Old Testament is full of contradictions. Only the new Testament has one overall message of peace, love, and tolerance. You don't need to be afraid of Muslims, but instead of the uneducated. I think more people have died in the name of Christianity than any other religion so it's not a Muslim thing, it's a power and greed thing. My thoughts. Good video but it has to be more balanced at the very least have a couple whom can provide different view points.

I don't think anyone would deny centuries of atrocities and oppression at the hands of Christian rulers (the same applies to all religions) but whether those rulers were 'good' Christians or not, I’ll leave to others to consider.
Christianity certainly doesn't preach "kill any unbelievers" and I have never seen any indication in any Christian religious texts indicating an underlying political ideology and certainly no evidence of forming a Government.

To me, it looks like Islam was created as a violent oppressive political ideology, not a religion.
Christianity has shown it can accept and sustain a liberal order; Islam has failed to create such a sustainable and just society with respect for individual rights by virtue of the fact that unless you are a Muslim male, you have no rights.

Did anyone see the British Channel 4 expose documentary "Britain's Islamic Republic"?
The basic story being that some Muslims are subverting the Governments election process to get their fellow Muslims into positions of power within the Government purely to further the aims and political ideology of Islam - scary stuff!
