Hello guys.
Today wanted to create some forums but I realized I had to create some sub-forums but actually this version doesnt have it. I downloaded the last version of sub-forum and the old version mod. It was a lot of work but at the end I got a blank page when I wanted to enter to control panel from the forum. I brought everything back again
I would like you to advice me what I should do about it. I do need to do sub-forum mod otherwise my forum will be long way to scroll down. Thanks in advace for your time. |

Good evening,
It is possible to install sub-forums on bbtonuke..
I succeeded to install them on rn2.3.01 but haven't tried on RN2.4 . However my attempt succeeded on the second try.
I know for a fact that two versions of sub-forums exist for bbtonuke but only one works right out-of-the-box for the latest version, the other one displays the same symptoms that you are describing (blank page on ACP). On the other side I remember having problems with the good version displaying nothing else than blank , but that was due to a mis-installation of the mod.
If I remember correctly, the working one takes 30 mins to install , but the "non-working" one takes up to 70 mins (more or less than 3 hours of hair-tearing).
have a good day. |

unicornio,
RavenNuke(tm) has never had sub-forums. So if you were using it then you must have added it yourself. |

I am doing that right now Raven.
I am having a little problem in understanding this part
Code:
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<td class="row2"><span class="gen"><a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}"
#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
"row2"
#
#-----[ IN-LINE AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
{catrow.forumrow.STYLE}
Can u please tell me how if they mean to do this
Solution:
<td class="row2"{catrow.forumrow.STYLE}><span class="gen"><a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}"
|
Is this correct?
I guess they mean this
Code:<td class="row2">{catrow.forumrow.STYLE}<span class="gen"><a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}"

I have a sub-forums mod working. I just need to edit the theme templates for the themes that do not use subSilver, and then I will post it for testing. |

Palbin, please write this up in Mantis for 2.41.00 and add it to the wiki. We may skip 2.40.02 and have a quick release of 2.41.00 in a month or so. Thanks! |

Does that mean you plan to have sub-forums in the default package?
Btw isn't 2.40.02 supposed to be the "stable" version? |

Hi eldorado
Do you know how important is to have an organize forum?
In my opinion there are many mods which are not necessary but sub-forums is so important nowadays. phpbb3 has it and I guess Raven is considering to include a nice sub-forum like this one. Thanks Palbin and Raven for taking into account my suggestion. |

v2.40.01 is the current stable version.
v2.40.00 through 2.40.99 would be for bug fixes only.
v2.41.00 through 2.99.00 would be for enhancement releases and any bug fixes along the way.
Using v2.40.01 as an example:
2 is the Major release number.
40 is the Minor release number but would include fixes AND enhancements.
01 is the Bug Fix release number. |

Sorry, I mistranslated. I thought 2.40.02 was going to be the next version.
I was expecting you did your versioning Linux style.
as 2.40.xx being a "Long Term Support" version and 2.41.xx being an "engine test" before 2.42.xx
like OpenSuse11.1 isn't considered as LTS whereas 11.2 is
but that versioning doesn't work well with php( thinking of it) |

Not that I'm against , but I fear more trouble supporting it than attachments |

I have never used a sub-forum MOD because of the site I have visited that use them, I find them hard to navigate.
One thing I'm certainly interested in is if the url shortening still works and gives nice links. |

Little late, but yes the url shortening still works as it is still just a link to said forum. |
