Creating or modifying upload module

Hey guys. ive had an idea. I want to modify or create a new upload system for evolution. One that allows you to upload large files with an added progress bar . also once a person uploads a file i want them to recieve points or money just like the points system. is this possible? if so please post your bid below.

1. What is to become of these uploaded files?
2. Will size limitations need to be configurable?
3. Will you to be able to configure allowable extensions?
4. I assume access to this module will be "Group" based?
5. Will users have to be able to access their uploads?
6. Will each user's uploads have to be stored in a separate folder?

basically i just want to host custom content for games etc like mods, maps and so on. all uploads should be placed in the download section for people to download. i just need added features to it like progress bar of the file being uploaded as this isnt here in php nuke. file size should be unlimited. exe , .rar , .zip only allowed... and if possible once a user uploads a file points should be credited to there account..

I dont think that is wise, atleast not on the server you host your website on.
consider a curl application to upload and fetch files from another server.
(i assume you want to offer aloth of BIG files)

arent there any other options , for example does megaupload or any other filestorage website , an option to give access to your private folder or something?
Did you investigate that.
Or is that defenitly not what you want?

Oh rite . My site at the moment is www.cry-maps.com have a look at the upload bit on the nav.... Maybe limit to say 400mb.. I just wanna upgrade to make it more simple.. Like for instance when uploading a file it doesn't show the progress of the upload so some users may navigate away thinking that it's not uploading..

Your best bet would be to upgrade to RavenNuke as evo doesnt have the points mod installed in it. Once you have RavenNuke you could just add a progress bar to your downloads mod and also you could do it so each user that uploads a file gets 15 points. That is how i would do it anyway.
