My wife has been suffering with back/neck pain for many months. Finally, we persuaded the Dr to order an MRI. Results were very scary. She has a tumor inside her spinal cord at the T1-T2 area with built up spinal fluid extending roughly halfway up her neck and halfway down her back that has caused an other pain/numbness issues. Her condition was described by her neurosurgeon today as a "very serious". If left untreated, she would suffer permanent paralysis from at least mid-trunk down. He, the surgeon, said this might happen anyway but that the tumor must come out if there is any hope of a normal life. He feels the probability of malignancy is very low but won't know for sure until the tissue is examined. He seemed confident that he could possibly remove the tumor completely with little or no permanent loss of function, but at the minimum she would need short term rehab to get complete use of her legs again, and would probably have numbness of her groin area at least for a while.

She goes in for surgery Nov 9.

We would covet your prayers.

Thanks,
Doulos

Doulos,

Our prayers are with you my friend! We will pray, in accordance with God's will, for a successful removal of the entire tumor and a full recovery as well as peace and assurance for you and her during this time. Please let me know if I might be of any other help.

My wife came through surgery well. She is able to move her arms and legs. However, further treatment may be required once the Dr's get the lab results. The neurosurgeon, neurologist, and oncologist will be meeting to discuss her case as early as this Friday. She will need, at the minimum, short term rehab to make sure she can make her legs do as she wants and to regain strength.

Thanks for you prayers.

Doulos

She is out of the hospital and into an inpatient rehab facility where she will stay for about a week. She is still numb in her lower trunk and left leg and in a lot of pain. But considering everything she is doing very well. Thanks.

Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow. My wife is at home now after a rough 2 weeks in various hospital facilities. She is gaining strength and some of the sensation is returning to her left leg and trunk/groin area and is experiencing no pain except in the incision area when the stitches get pulled. We go in next week for a follow-up MRI and consult with the neurosurgeon.

We added it up and there were people in at least 17 US states and 5 other countries praying for her.

Thanks again for all your prayers.

AMEN! Btw, you quoted one of my most favorite hymns Wink

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
