IF there something i need to turn on for this to happen automaticly? I see that html, bbcode are turned on. but i thought it did it automaticly. even if i copy and past html code in there it does not work.

I had to install 2.3 becuase autotheme does not work with 2.4

By default, html is turned off in the forums. You can format link using bbcode img tags or turn on html in forum general admin configuration.
