Im not sure this is the correct forum. If not sorry.

I want to convert one of my older database dumps from VB into my RN site. (phpbb2)

We use to run a squad with over 3000 players and I always backed up my database. But since its been such a long time between BF2 and BF3 we didn't use the site anymore.

But now that BF3 is coming we want to convert our VB db to RN-bb2 install. Which then we can email our old users and let them know we are back.

Any help would be great! I tried a couple simple converters but they didn't work Sad

nitroviper, if you have already tried converters you found, you may need to pay someone to do this work. You could try the "For Hire" forum here and see if you get any takers.

Well, I tried a couple, thats not to say i did it right lol. I'm very new to php etc... My old webmaster is gone and I was never good at the code stuff.

I wouldn't mind paying someone if it wasn't alot of money. I have no idea what that price range would be!

Thanks for your suggestions Smile

I actually dont remember. Its been about 3 years ago. Can I tell looking at the .sql files? I swear it was VB v3. I still own the VB license, But I actually tried to get it again and it said I owed money. Which is crazy because I bought a lifetime license.

I have notepad++ so I can view the .sql files.

I appreciate the help honestly!

I know there is a VB2 to phpbb2 converter, but I am not sure about VB3. If your forum is only a few years old, it probably is VB3. I will look around and see what i can find.

I'm making a new database and am going to try and install VB to it. Ill try to import the database I saved and see what happens. Maybe I can downgrade from VB3 to VB2, then try and use the VB2 to PHPbb2 converter.

Will that work with nuke users tho? Since the nuke login works on the forum it seems it would to me.

Here is a VB3 to phpBB2 converter:

And here is a phpBB2 to nuke converter:
http://www.nukeresources.com/downloadview-details-826-phpBB_to_PHP-Nuke_NukeSQL.html

This may help out some. Here is a discussion link on the phpbb2 nuke converter that may help also:
