Sometimes I get get tired of the endless childishness of the would-be hackers and skript kiddies. In the last couple of months I've been pretty ill, some of which is better, but still some problems. During this time, the number of hack attempts at one of my php-nuke websites increased to roughly 60 a day.

I always made it a point to have guest accounts where people could log in and test new themes or whatever features I might be working on, trying to improve. Last night someone took advantage of that to post several obscene posts to the forums. Lol, lovely birthday morning surprise to wake up and delete pointless trash out of the forums.

I closed the guest accounts, which was something I was sorry to have to do.

To me, personally, it is the height of defective behavior, something you would expect from people whose limited mentality finds throwing firecrackers at puppies unutterably funny.

Raven, thanks for having a rant forum. It actually feels a bit good to let that out. Smile

Sorry to hear about the low life defacements. Am glad to hear that some things are on the mend! Think about setting up a subdomain with no forums and just a minimal set up. Then, do like what Bob does on the test Sentinel site, have a cron job that refreshes the database every hour Wink

I'm doing somewhat better healthwise. The ulcer is healed, thoguh the last MRI still shows bone infection. I kind of question that because the x-rays are all clear and there are no other signs of problems. The hardest part has been dealing with the gentamicin damage. I knew it was hard on the kidneys but did not know it was an ototoxin. The damage it did to my inner ears has left me unable to balance properly. Unfortunately, the damage is neither temporary nor reversible. I've been learning to walk all over again, and trying to develop new ways to orient myself so I don't fall. Nights are the worst since it is even harder to tell up from down. Well, believe me, I will find a way to handle with it, live with it, and be stronger for it. Smile

Lol, it was good to know the only way they were able do a defacement was to log into a guest account and post to the forum. It was junk stuff - racial ephithets and a few potty words, none of which singed my whiskers though I did not appreciate cleaning up after them on my birthday.

My good spirits tend to be on the irrepressible side, so I'm over my mad now. Very Happy
