hello all,
i have been looking in the forums for the last hour for way to allow access to a folder. example www.mysite.com/photo I want to be able to download a zip file directly from that folder.

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to download the zip file from a folder that I know of.

here is the error i get when i try to access the folder

ERROR: 403 - Forbidden
You do not have permission to access the requested file
Hint: The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it
Authorization will not help and you SHOULD NOT repeat the request as you may be banned

in the cpanel error log i see this error

[Fri Dec 02 21:59:48 2011] [error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /home/lonk/public_html/photo/

Are you using the correct path such as www.mysite.com/photo/myphoto.zip

yes im using the correct path. its trying to load the autotheme, could autotheme be messing it up?

Directory Index forbidden is usually associated with an htaccess file directive.
Do you have a htaccess file in that directory, possibly with the command Deny All
