Hello all, after my upgrade my custom google ad links changed position.
Here is a screenshot I took [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
Basically it used to have a dark grey line running along below the add but that`s now vanished.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what files I would have to check to rectify the ad placement from the position I have shown from the screenshot ?
I can fully understand its not stock but I just need some idea`s where to look, its been years since that ad position was created and I have no idea.
Thanks for any help all

You can check the theme.php of your used theme in the function themeheader(). In older themes it could be you have also a separate file like footer.html in your theme-folder. |

Hello I have managed to find the piece of code someone made for me within the theme.php as you explained and the code looks like this...
Code:echo "<body>";
include("themes/ClanMtS/header.php");
include("themes/ClanMtS/adds.html");
|
and finding the adds.html file the code looks like this...
Code: <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td rowspan="4"><img src="themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot1_01b.gif" width="22" height="53" alt="" /></td>
<td rowspan="4" style="background:url(themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot_rtb.gif); width:50%; height:53;">
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-9962528216889586";
/* 728x15, Sea Fishing Links */
google_ad_slot = "0562371611";
google_ad_width= 728;
google_ad_height= 15;
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"></script>
</td>
<td colspan="3" style="background:url(themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot_rtb.gif); width:480; height:56;" align="center" valign="bottom" ></td>
<td rowspan="4" style="background:url(themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot_rtb.gif); width:50%; height:56;" ></td>
<td rowspan="4"><img src="themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot1_06b.gif" width="50" height="56" alt="" /></td>
<td rowspan="4"><img src="themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot1_07b.gif" width="25" height="56" alt="" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
|
Now before the upgrade the adds had a dark grey line that was the same height as the adds which spread across the page to the other side just under the blue header but as you can see something has gone wrong
Can anyone see the possible mistake????
Thanks all

Actually if you put this link in your browser you can see the grey / brown line that was originally there [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Have you checked to see if it is browser related? In firefox and chrome, the bar is there. |

Blimey nuken, your not wrong it is there
I have been using Google chrome for the past few years and never seen this before on my sea fishing site
It does appear to be google chrome related
Not much I can do then I guess ?
Thanks for that

hi mrixnewaccount.
Try this one, I don't know if it is going to work good, but it should be something like this.
u need to open your style.css and at the end copy the css files.
style.css
Code:.ts-1 {
border: none;
height: 56px;
position: relative;
text-align: left;
width: 992px;
}
.ts-1-1 {
border: none;
height: 54px;
left: 0px;
padding: 1px;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
width: 20px;
}
.ts-1-2 {
background: url('themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot_rtb.gif');
border: none;
height: 27px;
left: 22px;
padding-bottom: 1px;
padding-left: 1px;
padding-right: 1px;
padding-top: 28px;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
width: 446px;
}
.ts-1-3 {
background: url('themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot_rtb.gif');
border: none;
height: 54px;
left: 470px;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 1px;
position: absolute;
text-align: center;
top: 0px;
width: 0px;
}
.ts-1-4 {
background: url('themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot_rtb.gif');
border: none;
height: 54px;
left: 470px;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 1px;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
width: 445px;
}
.ts-1-5 {
border: none;
height: 54px;
left: 917px;
padding: 1px;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
width: 48px;
}
.ts-1-6 {
border: none;
height: 54px;
left: 967px;
padding: 1px;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
width: 23px;
}
|
ads.html
Code: <div class="ts-1">
<div class="ts-1-1"><img width="22" height="53" alt="" src="themes/ClanMtS/images/footer/ClanMts-foot1_01b.gif"></div>

</div>
<div align="center" class="ts-1-3"></div>

mrixnewaccount, you must only add 'px' to your height values of the <td>'s, where you have added the background styles. No more changes needed:
open your adds.html ...
search:
change it to:
search:
change it to:
hicuxunicorniobestbuildpc, a lot of uneeded code for a simple issue with the height-values in his td's with the background css styles. BTW A position value absolute to get div containers side by side is not needed. You can float it, you can also use the display inline-block or the best way, you are using elements like a td of a table, as mrixnewaccount has it done. To convert all to divs and add so many css classes is too much. |
