Can anyone recommend a good vulnerability scanner to use to test out sites out on to see what vulnerabilities they have? i know qualys only gives you ten free tries but after that your out of luck which is why i was wondering if anybody knew of any good vulnerability scanners they might use?

I used McAffee Secure for a few years but they just recently raised their prices 1000% Sad

Just recently signed up for a free trial w/ Comodo http://www.comodo.com

but couldn't tell you much about their service yet. Familiar with qualys (one of the largest companies) but their pricing beyond the free trial is too kaching! for my blood.

Comodo is $249yr for PCI (payment card industry) scanning; which is what I have needed the scans for.

i ran some vulnerability scanners on my mystery inc site this morning and got my ip blocked. my hosting company was about to flip out luckily they didn't. i looked in the nsnst blocked ip in the phpmyadmin but for some reason my ip wasn't listed and when i looked for my ip on my cell phone it wasn't listed either. my hosting company claims it wasn't blocked from their end. my ip did show up in the protect ip category of the mod security and in the modules.php and in the captcha.php area. does anyone have any idea why this has happened? here i thought my ip would have been listed in the sentinel area but it wasn't

Look in you .htaccess file at the bottom. Add you ip to the sentinal whitelist.
