The avatar filetype must be .jpg, .gif or .png

On the ' forum-editprofile.html ' link if you upload from your machine it gives the error, The avatar filetype must be .jpg, .gif or .png and ive tried with jpg and gif.

Any suggestions what needs to be changed or removed/added where? Ive been messing with this for weeks and its driving me mad.

Out of curiousity are the fiilenames in all lower case no spaces in them? If not give that a try.

Another thing is the length of the name if its too long or uses chars other then letters. The whole thing of file type validation is strict enough many times valid images get bounced.

lower, capital, mixed doesnt matter gets that error. Ive tried from 4 characters to 10 and they all get that error. The last site i did (clanv.com) never had this problem so I assume its something in one of the files specific to the theme im using on clananimosity.com. But where....

The uploads directory is set in the forums admin and chmod 666 right?
