Here is another Windblows Apache PHP MySQL installer.
What got me was its setup to with a plugged in version of php4.3.8 and defaults to php5.01 very handy I've been dreaming of figuring this out for a while when I stumpled onto WAMP! Now to toggle back and forth it is as easy as clicking on the icon in the task bar and choosing which version to run.

For this feature I have to give it a thumbs up! Especially at this time when people are wanting to experiment with php5 but not able to fully run all their scripts on it.

Very slick indeed! Since I already have my own WAMP installation, will this allow me to set the directories so I can install it in a separate location?

The only file that is not in the WAMP directory is my.ini but that has its own name (mywamp.ini) so it "should" be compatible with a little port rearranging in its httpd.cnfg.

It will most likely overwrite the existing values if they are installed as services presently. To be honest I didn't think much about it since it was a fresh install. But thats the biggest issue I can fore see. No doubt there is potential for disaster as always.

I've been using XAMPP and really like it....

And it has shortcuts to start and stop the services, navigate to the htdocs folder, as well as switch between PHP flavors.....

I looked at that one too. Its really hard to decide what meets your needs sometimes. I couldn't really tell at a glance what was included in the windows version but when I saw Apache2 I kept going. I wasn't looking for a full blown server since I'm on dialup here serving pages out is pretty much a joke and I was looking for a compact version thats why I liked the pluggins via installers idea. Even though the installers make for larger downloads I found it convenient to use.
