just curious. I notice that some of the modules in nuke make the right side blocks disappear, for example you can use this site as an example. (ravenphpscripts.com)

the main index page has left/right blocks plus the center, but when you click on the Forums module, the right side disappears and the forums mod takes over.

is this just part of the nuke design? any way to get around it? just curious. i am still trying to understand nuke!! thanks!

okay i read through it but what file in my modules do i change? for example if i want to change this setting in my forums module, what file do i edit? here are the instructions, but they don't indicate what file to change:

Quote:
If your module needs more space than is available in the central column of the PHP-Nuke layout, you may want to hide the right column of blocks. This is accomplished very easily from within the code of any module: find the line

$index = 1;

and change it to:

$index = 0; // 0 : do not show right blocks - 1:show right blocks

Of course, if the line is not there, then $index is already 0, so your module already hides the right blocks

thanks.

Normally it's index.php.

hmm...i don't see that line in my forums module index.php file. what i want to do is NOT hide the right blocks on this module (and others).

does this make sense?

Try sticking it in there. Smile

Just remember where you put it in case it doesn't work and you have to remove it.

In the index.php file, you can make it the first statement

$index = 1;

okay, it worked, now i have a different issue! now the right blocks are visible but the width of the entire screen is too wide. you'd have to scroll to the right to see the rest of the right blocks.

any ideas on how/if it's fixable?

Nope, at least not easily. I'm assuming it's only happening when you're in Forums? If it's happening even on your home page then you must be using a fixed width theme and you need to get a non-fixed width theme.

yeah, it's also happening in other mods..i just tested it. well i like my current theme, so i guess i'll have to just live with the right blocks disappearing since i don't know if i can change the width in my theme!

You're going to have an issue anyway as the menu in the forums is a fixed length. (That bar along the top that starts off with Forum FAQ, Search, etc.)

Depending on the themes in question, take a look at the blocks.html file and the leftcenter.html file. Usually that's where the sizes are declared. Fool around with those.

Good luck,
