First off, let me congratulate those who wrote Sentinel. I think it is the best and most effective security software I have ever known. It works ! Period.

This guy from Amsterdam has been trying hack attempts to my site to retrieve my Admin data and then forward it to a yahoo account. Each time, Sentinel caught him cold. Now, I need to write to .htaccess and get this no good guy off my back indefinitely. Problem is, On sentinell 2.1.3 the path is greyed out. (Not place to enter the path). I have chmod the fiile to 666 and same results.

Question: Should I have to reinstall Sentinel. I remember seing the path a while back when I was installing sentinel, but I ignored the option.

Is there any other way I can put the no good guy IP into server side? I have already contacted Yahoo and his next attempt, I will contact the FBI.

Thanks,
dcasmr

If nothing has changed other than your version of Sentinel then try reinstalling Sentinel. If that doesn't work then report back.

Yes, I re-installed Sentinel 2.1.3. and IPC 2.1.3a. Path to .htaccess still not available. One thing, I did not setup HTTP Auth. Not sure if that's the problem. Also, I am wondering which .htaccess to use. The one I have been trying to use is under /www. I have noticed some .htaccess under sentinel folder directories.

Thanks,
dcasmr
