Okay, here goes one stupid question. I am having confusion and problems regarding the God account.
I installed Sentinel as the administrator, and the God account features do not work. Now, what is the difference between the administrator and the God accounts??? I've always thought they were the same.
Have I missed seeing the forest because of the trees??? ![Question](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_question.gif) |

The first admin user created cannot be deleted and for what ever reason was named God. This is the admins admin so to speak. The idea of some features being accessable only to the god admin is that it adds special protection to the feature by not allowing just any admin to make changes with it or whatever. |

That was what I thought. So, if my very first account when installing nuke was god, then it is the god account. If it was admin, then that should be the god account, right?
Okay, then why don't the god account options work? |

When I go to the Nuke Sentinel Administration screen, the following are not active and state I need to be the God Admin account.:
Admin Auth List
Scan for New Admins
Database Maintenance
I am logged in as THE site administrator. This should be the God account. |

I have now. Like you stated, just to start basic. I cleared everything, cache, saved paths, cookies, passwords, etc. Then I went back to my site, and had to re-login and re-enter my password. Same results. BTW, I do keep my cache small as I don't like the ideas of running cached pages. I prefer newly refreshed pages. But clearing all the cookies, etc. was still a good thing to do. |

Ok I'm not sure exactly why this would happen unless you changed god to something else? |

Ah-ha! Found the answer!!!
In the posting thread at http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/postx3373-0-0.htmlgod this is discussed. When looking through the includes/sentinel.php file, I found the code discussed in that thread. Instead of replacing the code as suggested, the code was already there and commented out. I uncommented that code and commented out the code it was using. Now it works fine.
I guess this shows that if I have time and patience, which isn't always the case, I may find the answer by doing lots of digging.
Thanks for your assistance. |
