Log in access errors

We are trying to set up NukeSentinel (Version 7.3) and I believe we may not have activated / set authorizations in their proper sequence. Now previously registered members are getting the following error message when they attempt to log in:

We are Sorry, but this section of our site is for Registered Users Only.

You can register for free by clicking here, then you can
access this section without restrictions. Thanks.

And basically any link they attempt to select (even Registration) you get this error. I can log into the site as an administrator and then I can log into the site with my usual user password but not directly into the website.

We Think this anomoly was created by not going in the proper sequence. I have been reading all of the posts I could find without any luck finding an answer to this.

Have you heard of this happening before? If so do you have any suggestions?

First off, let's verify that it is a NukeSentinel issue. Comment out the lines you added in mainfile.php and see what happens.

Well first off my co-manager got frustrated trying to fix this issue and tried to shut off NukeSentinel so a few members could log onto the site (we didn't know, then or now, if this was a global issue or just localized to a few members). Since there was no "button" to rapidly accomplish this task (like shutting down the site for maintenance), he figured he would just remove the NS files. Well most of NS is now gone (like all of the NS admin functions) but some of it still lingers, along with the "restricted access" error. So I doubt we could now determine what actually caused the error.

However, I would like to address your reply. Oh yea... thanks for replying so quickly, by the way. I don't know exactly what you wanted me to do. What exactly is "commenting out the lines" is that where you add the "//" around the code so it will be ignored? If so.. I don't believe I would be able to do that, as my co-manager made the install entries and I do not know exactly what he added to the original file?

At this point, we will need to restore the database to the state of the pre-NS install and try the install again. Hopefully in the proper sequence this time. I will check back in if we get the same issue after a renistall of NS.

By the way... I see a number of terms that are used in php-Nuke with which I am not familiar. Is there a glossery of terms somewhere that defines what some of these term mean and what they do?

NukeSentinel requires changes to mainfile.php. Remove those lines and see if you still have the problem. And there is no glossary that I know of. BTW, there are thousands of site using NukeSentinel. This is the first time I've heard this one. I doubt that it is NS. It more than likely is a setup issue or another change that was made.

Hey... If you deal with people long enough they will always show you something you never saw before...LOL. Because if a human can create something... another human can show you how well they can mess it up... Cool
