Any tips on optimization of Sentinel on site?

I just installed Sentinel on my site, and I can sleep easier at night now, thanks Very Happy

Everything seems to be working; however, response time from the website has changed from 2-5 seconds to a dramatic 30 secs or even server timeout (server not responding).

After turning off every blockers except admin & authors, the site seems to be responding much better. I even turned off writing to .htaccess.

Any hints/tips on optimizing Sentinel?

That's odd. I have everything on and my response time is .5 seconds usually. We have optimized the code in most cases. I would check your server error log to see if there were errors being thrown. Often times that's what gives the appearance of an optimization issue.

Removing the Union Tap and $_GET $_POST filters from mainfile.php makes a fair increase in speed of the site since they are run on every page load. Really most of the variables are being properly checked now in the default files if you are using an up to date version. Also those are replicated/and improved for th emost part in Nuke-Sentinel. Providing you re enable those blockers first.

Removing the Union Tap/GET/POST seems to help just a tiiny bit.

After activating/deactivating different modules, I found the culprit to be the IP_Tracking module.

Sorry to be blamin' Sentinel. Embarassed
