Is there a way to block entire countries in IP2C without adding each range for that country one by one?
I know the concept of banning by whole country might sound harsh, but this is for a small personal website that only myself and my immediate family need access to.
I'm not saying hackers from another country are more likely to deface my site than from my own, but like I said only my family will view it and they do not travel. Also I'm confident that reporting abuse against hackers in my own country would actually be worthwhile. |

With 2.2.0, which is in testing, you will be able to do just that. Goto http://www.nukesentinel.net and tour around to see the new import system. |

I am needing to upgrade my Sentinel installalation... any idea how much longer it will be before 2.2.0 is available? If it is going to be a while I will just upgrade to the most current version.
Also... I host a site that is location specific (the state of Texas). I frequently get people from Brazil and a few other Countries that try to join (even though my TOS states you must be from Texas), will the IP2C add on give the ability to block all countries outside of the United States? |

I didn't see a way to ban entire countries without manually banning each set of ranges.... am I overlooking it? |

goto http://yoursite.com/admin.php?op=ABImport and there you can either "Import to Blocked Ranges" or "Import to IP2Country". The first is the link to block out entire countries by importing the data into the "Blocked Ranges" table. |

Ok, got that resolved but now the Forum Admin page is returned blank. I have rechecked everything but do not see where the function is breaking down. Any suggestions? |

Greetings,
I have a couple of questions.
1. When you import the Country Ranges into IPC2 you are not in fact actually blocking them right away but storing their IP ranges for future use correct?
2. How do you unblock a country if it was blocked by accident?
I just installed NukeSentinel and like it but want to be sure that I do not mess things up by importing the ranges and have them blocked right of the bat.
Regards, |

Bob Marion will have to answer number one
Number two: Go to the blocked ranges menu and clear the range that you blocked by accident. |

1) Importing the country data into the IP 2 Country table does NOT block countries it in fact activates the system for tracking what visitor came from what country. |

Is there a way to block a whole country at once rather then having to click on each c2 range? |

yes i'm quite curious about this as well. I am currently hosting a site for a gaming clan, and there are a lot of people from Turkey, Germany who hack everyone they can find in the game, and i'd rather just block them from being able to get to my site at all since all the members are within the states.
Is there anyway to do this? |

Yes, just import the countries you wish to block into banned ranges.
Nuke ACP -> Sentinel -> Import Data -> Import to Blocked Ranges |

Hmmm, ok when i do that, it takes me the country listing, and then when i click on them it just says ok or whatever, but is it actually blocking them? because i don't see the ip's listed as blocked. |

When I view this section Sentinel -> Import Data -> Import to Blocked Ranges I get no listings to block.
What am I doing wrong? I'm getting comment spammers from key countries and want to block 'em. |

Although I have not tried to do it yet, it looks like you can do this through the "IP2C Range Listing" within the IP to Country administration? |

the method here i BELIEVE....im no expert but i believe this method REQUIRES that u have the files listed under yoursite.com/Import folder
if u have nothing there...this method will give u an empty text box
If its there and u see the countries..click each contry and it will update that country based on those files. |

Thx montego, but that method I'm aware of. But is there a way to do all the IP ranges for a whole country. For example russia has 24 pages of IP ranges and it would be nearly impossible to have click each individual range.
What files do you speak of darklord, I don't quite get which ones you mean. |
