This is the story..
On a testsite i installed version GT-NExtGEn_Beta_0.4.
So it seems that all works .
But then the litle upgrade to the 0.4a
Then the whole testsite cannot be viewed anymore.
Everything is done by the letter with no mistakes.
Anyone has seen this before or knows what went wrong? |

I have not used GT next Gen yet on nuke 7.5 and up and will begin installation on a site just upgraded to latest chatserv patch. I have found in the past that most peeps think they followed the instructions to the letter or misunderstood installation. It might help for you to backtrack your process |

Thanks dean, but its a very simple install
I started with that 0.4 version and all works,no problems.
But in the update file is lets you take out the code that was in the header and footer.
Most parts goes in the mainfile now and a few minor things.
So its easy but after that its dead and so is the testsite. |

I read the manual upgrade to 0.4a several times, but it it isn´t so simple and if anything goes wrong you got trouble with the links in the search engines. If you wish I can post the manual upgrade, but it´s in german. |

I had problems with some of the stuff in htaccess causing the site not to load. I reverted back to my older htaccess but replaced the rewrite statements for my modules and that fixed it for me. |

Me, too! Heh! I love GT!!! It separates the men from the boys, so to speak.
It's the most convoluted code in Nukedom! Probably took me a year to figure it out... |

Whoa...
First, let's start by please telling us what version of Nuke this is.
Second, There's really no need to post all of your files as it will take forever to scroll through the forum and needlessly consume raven's database space, just zip up your .htaccess, header.php, footer.php, modules.php and mainfile.php and provide us with a link. After that, it would probably be a good idea to go back and edit those two last big posts to remove the hugeness
Next, what does your error_log say? That you can post.

Aha! This is a sub-domain.
You need to make sure that your DNS information doesn't use wildcards and also that your primary domain's .htaccess has rules for handling sub-domain GT installations.
This can be a real huge pain in the butt depending on your provider, but it can be done.
The real problem is that without proper .htaccess root rules and new specific rules with a new rewritebase and referrer in the sub-domain, you get into these crazy loop problems, or situations where the root tries to apply the rewrite rules to your sub-domain. (Meaning a link in your sub-domain with the same GT conditions would lead to a primary domain destination, or create a loop.
Anyway, like I said, it's a pain. |

Well i didnt make a sub domain step..
If i use the normal 0.4 version where it still uses the codes in the footer and header it works..
So why the problem as of version 4a ? |

Are you using 0.4a at your primary domain? |

Is it just me, or are there all sorts of middot and non-breaking space coding errors in this '0.4a' version?
That's a bad sign! That kinda stuff is pretty perfunctory... |

I know this doesn't have anything to do with YOUR problem, but has he flipped out or something? GT used to give me nightmares... |

And he doesnt have the time..
He says he will try to give it some attention again but i have my doubts.. |
