Sigatures not working

I could really use some help on this.. i have been to www.phpbb.org any many other websites 4 help.. but no one can help me...
i am using a PHPnuke on my website and a phpbb forum.. and for some reason i can't get the forum to show sigatures.. when i add

Are you using PHP-Nuke 7.7 or 7.8?

Most likely your culprit. Due to the inclusion of the TinyMCE editor it tries to include html tags in just about every section that normally uses BBCode tags.

By the way, due to the huge security risks associated with using 7.7/7.8 support is not offered here for it.

Are you putting that signature in phpBB 'Profile' or PHP-Nuke 'Your Account'?

Not sure about v7.8, but in the past you had to enter the sig in phpBB 'Profile' or you'd get screwy results like that...

I picked up on the html tag inclusion immediately, it is almost always associated with forum posting issues with 7.7/7.8 which was why I asked. *LOL*

Every person that has come to me personally with that trouble was using it. Just assumed this was the case here. I don't think that the YA module uses any html tags by default but the forum definately does when TinyMCE is included.

I agree completely. I wish there was a polite way to make a global annoucement on this site regarding the whole "no support for the 7.7/7.8" (lovingly referred to as 7.shite by myself) series. I have seen so much wasted time spent regarding those releases. I have also seen sooooo many replies where the user has been warned about the HUGE security holes as well as how it is not supported yet everyday there are new help requests..... Anyone here else feel like the little boy with his finger in the proverbial leaking dike? Laughing

Personally, I don't mind offering support to Nukers, no matter what version they are running. The problem I'm having is... In the past, I've installed every version since v5.x in subdomains on my production site, for testing purposes, to check the compatibility of blocks, modules, yada, yada. However, I'm afraid (for want of another word) to install the newest releases on my production site. Put another way, it's hard for me to offer suggestions and recommendations for software that I've never used - kinda puts me in an awkward position, you know?

I suppose I could put these new versions in password protected subs, but that's kinda silly, no? Hopefully the TinyMCE bugs will be worked out, and 'we' can go about our business, but until then, I would imagine support is going to be rather spotty...

I understand and agree. Personally I am just not willing to install it yet either. But also I am of the mind set that the endless upgrade path doesn't really make sense. If the upgrades brought enhanced security and useful enhancements then my mindset would change, but history has proven that this just isn't the case.
