I want a basic subscription package for my site.
I want the customers to be able to click on "Premium Access" and have them pay via paypal, and once its paid, it give them access.
I was looking at E-Solutions but it seems a little robust for me, like way to much stuff.
I was looking at E-Subscription, and it looks more reasonable.
My question is, if anyone has these, are they easy to install? And what one would be the best for me.
Here is my site:

Personally, I prefer not to use the Nuke Royal solutions for quite a few different reasons. The first of which is that it is proprietary in using predefined definitions and that it does not comply to the Nuke Standards regarding $module_name functionality. (It must be called E-Solution and it must reside in the E-Solution Directory).
Next, it contains massive amounts "E-Solution" type properties including images, expressions and other functions intended to do more to support the author of the solution than the webmasters employing it.
Finally, it makes a large number of assumptions about your configuration and does not play well with add-on mods or customizations due to its proprietary design nature.
Some might call it "robust" I tend to think of it as bloat and wasted resources.
It is anything but simple to implement requiring a huge amount of core file edits.
It is not compliant to W3C presentation standards and the mods that it has you make ads additional non-compliance errors to existing modules.
In using it, you'll find many of the same kinds of problems. It is anything but easy to setup and to administer and has restrictions on what you can name your membership types and actually includes proprietary images that again, are there to promote the author and not your domain.
I think if you are looking for a simple solution for memberships, there are much easier ways that are better and more flexible.
My first recommendation would be to start by getting NSN Groups. This gives you groups functionality in your domain to control what groups have access to what resources.
After that, you have a lot of options. You can either use something simple like the NSN Banner Ads solution to create memberships ( a lot of people do this and it is very easy to setup! ) or you can simply modify something out there to do the job for you.
In my case, I wrote my own solution that was based on an old public domain banner ads system called PalmLoyal Advertising 1.0. I merely changed the definitions and link properties. It has unlimited capabilities and I did not need to edit any of my files. This would be same way that it would work with NSN Banner Ads as well. In either case, when someone purchases a subscription, you merely go to 1 administrator screen and setup their membership dates and group names and that's it.
It works great and is very easy to use. Plus, it does not have any of the core file editing issues, nor any of the other many dramatically negative impacts of using E-Solutions.
If you want to see what I mean, you can visit Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! which is my system in action. It is very simple, but that is what I wanted anyway.
Now, one last thing about E-solutions. A common complaint about it is that when people purchase things at your domain, they don't know where to go next to get those things.
I've heard this from 4 different people that started with E-Solution but later opted to dump it in favor of NSN or other solutions that are easier to use, easier to maintain less of a pain for their users.
I think having e-solution as, you are basically paying someone to deface your site with his own personal giant billboards that you can't get rid of.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the good insite, but i guess since i alreaday bout it, im outa luck lol...
I think the thing that attractedme most to e-solutions was, the paypal feature..
Sometimes i dont have access to my email for 2 or 3 days, so i liked how the customers can sign up, and boom it does all the transactions etc right there, without me having to do anything.. |
