I am using 7.0 and I always wondered why my username never showed as site admin. I got to checking and when you go to forums...and click on permissions, and I set myself as administrator....and it says saved but i can go right back and i am set as user again...any ideas why this isn't saving? |

Use phpMyAdmin and look at your username in nuke_users table. Verify that the user_level is '2'. if not, correct it. |

OK
Code:User Permissions Control
Username: DaRk-DuDe
User Level : Administrator
Usergroup memberships : Moderators
Permissions
Here you can alter the permissions and moderator status assigned to each individual user. Do not forget when changing user permissions that group permissions may still allow the user entry to forums, etc. You will be warned if this is the case.
Forum Simple Permissions Moderator status
Comments or Suggestions? Not Moderator
Advanced Mode
| OK it let me set administrator now but still doesn't show up as me being site admin...no matter what i do and i also set myself as moderator and it changes it back to Not Moderator |

Just caught up with your additional posts. Yes, you have to manually set the Rank. |

I don't understand what you're saying. You're editing the nuke_users table directly and a username is blank? |

ok when i open the nuke database...i scroll down on the left and find nuke_users next to last on bottom...i click on it and go to Database nuke - Table nuke_users running on localhost and i see user_id username and all in the list. i check username and click change and default is blank...i go down to user_level and default is 1 and i chage it to 2 and it saves...is this what you mean? |

That doesn't edit the table entries. That edits the table STRUCTURE. You need to click the GO button at the bottom instead to pull up the table entries. Then you click the edit icon to edit the entry. |
