I have screwed with something (can't remember) and now my cookies have gone haywire. Is there a way to reset my cookies to "stock"? |

Yeah, but it depends on which cookies you're talking about...
Some of them are hard-coded, some can be accessed through panels, et cetera. |

ok, i'll look into it, I do know that sometimes I can only use the "user" part of the cookie when I'm an admin, and doesn't work if I'm just a user. i.e., I have a php script that checks the user before giving results and it only works if I'm the admin, if i'm just a member it will not give me results... anyone know of the top of your head what I'm doing wrong there? |

just in case u have done this...
I found a couple other strange things can happen.
If your user name and admin are the same (VERY BAD security practice) u may not be able to edit the admin or your user details under admin or as user but can edit other users
The only way that u can edit them is manually in phpmyadmin.
I do not know if this was because of something I did to nuke, a nuke 'bug' , patched version, or nuke version.
I did discover this in very early days on my no-ip.com domain 'test' site after installing ip tracker and approve membership...Im dont know if it had anything thing to do with those and are 99.9% sure it wasnt approve member mod. |

nope, I'm "webmaster" and then my name as a member. My account has always done weird things though, I'm not sure if there's a setting somewhere I screwed up and told it I was an admin or something. Right now my "your account" page will not display anything other than the default "your account" page with all the "edituser" and "edithome" icons. Other member accounts act correctly, but not mine. I think the problem I had with not logging out was whether or not I had www in front of domain name. |

I have come across the odd strange thing...little things...
When I do often it is because I am logged in as member and admin at the same time.
It is not a good idea to remain logged in as admin...I rember reading something ages ago about this...cant rem why but more importantly its was a security thing and a time out with admin cookie or something.
Always log out as admin. |
