index page doesnt google rank ?

Hello all, about 2 months ago for some reason my sea fishing site at www.sea-fishing.org lost its index page rank ? the weard thing is if you check sub pages they have ranks?, someone explained that it maybe down to not enough content change etc but my front page does change content where as the sub pages hardly ever do? why could this of happened? my site still gets the same keyword positions in google etc but its far better to get a good index page rank as more sites used to link to me becuase of it.

Hi mrix,

there are several reasons for this e.g. url hijacking, bad neighborhoods,spam and possible sitemap problems and some other things too, but I´ve checked your site.Found your website with www. and without www in the index. This is always bad for the PR.

The solution (redirect to www) is this:

mrix, this goes in your .htaccess file at the root of your PHP-Nuke site. If you do not have a .htaccess file, then you would need to create one using a true text editor (one that will allow you to create a file with this name -- you'll see what I mean if you don't have a good editor) such as Textpad or UltraEdit.

If you have on the top "RewriteEngine on" in your htaccess you don´t need this line again. Afterthat check your site, if you get problems maybe you have to check also the cookie domain settings in the forums configuration.
I add this code or the code opposite without www. normally when I start a new website. Smile

Mine is different but try it between RewriteEngine On and the #next lines
