cant post news after nuke sentinel install

After installing and editing the needed files when we go to submit news it looks as if its submitted because it doesnt display any errors but it isnt writing to the database. any ideas on how to fix this? Only the news that was submitted before the nuke sentinel install is in the database. we have the latest free version of phpnuke and latest version of nuke sent.

Set $display_errors=true; in config.php and see if there are any errors that are displayed. Are you using any forbidden tags in your posting or not?

hrmm it seems the quick reply didnt work for me, anyways display errors is set to true and i dont get any errors, it just goes back to the main admin page after i submit the news but it doesnt get saved to the database.

any ideas how to fix this? and i have only been using regular text, no tags or html.

We got a similar question at the German NukeSentinel Support Site. But normally NukeSentinel isn´t the reason for this problem. Have you tried in the database repair table ?

no not yet i can try it but i dont see why that would be causing a problem. You mean do the database repair thing in the nuke sent panel right? I thought it was an error when editing the files but after re looking at them i dont see anything that deal with news. Also i tried posting a poll last night an when i click the submit button it goes to a blank white page no errors.

UPDATE: well i checked the database and it said it was all OK, so i dont know, i have a feeling its something with the editing the files myself, but i did exactly as the edit core files said. Maybe its a mix between the 3.1 patch and the nuke sent edits not likeing each other? But in the core edit files i didnt see anything relating to news.

Go back over your edits very carefully. Nothing in NukeSentinel will cause this.

well in my edits with the 3.1 patch there are parts that do the same functions as in the core.edit files but they are programmed differently so i just copy/paste the core edits.

well i replaced all the core edit files back with the 3.1 patches and i still cannot post news. any ideas?

Use phpMyAdmin and post the structure of your stories table. What version of phpNuke are you using?

hmmmm i wonder how that got changed, but THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, it works now, maybe the 3.1 patch is missing something? I dont remember changing any sql syntax anywhere, but thank you.

Also another things about my 'IP Ban' Section the 4 ip box ranges are filled in with my ip and the last one has a *, and underneath the 'Ban IP' button under the reason box it says

_BANCLASSC

Any idea what that means? I remember it wanted me somwhere to replace the ipban.php page with the nukesent but i didnt want to because it would overwrite my current ipbans i had in place. But this looks like a variable syntax error somewhere.

EDIT: Well i commented out the ipban.php page in mainfile.php like it said to in the core_edit_files. It doesnt show my ip in the boxes now but it still says _BANCLASSC at the bottom of the button, not sure what it means.

If you upgraded to a newer phpNuke, you probably had a problem when running the upgrade script. That would explain the missing field

_BANCLASSC should be defined in your admin/language/lang-*.php file
If not, add this line
