Hi all,

Im realy interested in knowing what browser you use and why...

And also important...do you care or check if your site is compatible with your choice of browser ?

Thanks for any feedback... Smile

Hi,

since I had this "accident with cool web search and IE url hijacking" I´m only using FF.
After I used many removal tools I could fix this"about blank"problem, but I lost a lot of dll. files.
I have really a bad feeling by using IE, but sometimes I have to use IE e.g. for Alexa
and if I had never checked my forums with IE I did´t know about the display errors with my old forums style.

ah i see, well im just curious of what others use.
i have IE,firefox and just installed opera.
now for example...,in opera my top center block of downloads and weblinks is showing the last weblinks row very weird...its pulled out instead of how the other rows look.
and that is weird.
The behaviour of browsers is bizar..

I've been using Firefox/Firebird/Phoenix since '02, so I guess we're pretty much joined at the hip by now. Reason: I think it makes an excellent web dev tool, with the right extensions installed. I'm glad to see it's finally catching on!

I probably use Mozilla just as much as FX. Reason: It will do everything FX will, including web dev, plus it's more secure & mature. FX is in a constant state of development, and I'm (still) afraid to install it at work, hence I use Mozilla at work, and Firefox at home.

Having said that, the only browser I find fun and exciting is SeaMonkey, but it's a rough alpha at this point. Reason: It's FX 1.5 at the core with a Mozilla GUI, e.g. the best of all possible worlds. We'll see where this road leads... but, in the meantime, SeaMonkey is a cool toy!

BTW, I only use IE to check code for compatibility... Wink

Firefox is by far my favorite browser. However I have be having a few issues with it and java lately. For instance, I installed bbcodebox on my site and found that some things don't work in firefox.

Also I was at a gaming site and found that on one game at least I couldn't submit my scores in firefox. Dang it I was leading at the time too! :/

Any ideas on that?? Is there a setting or something I'm missing?

SeaMonkey?
mmmm never heard of that one before...
But there are a lot of browsers available.
Bad point is to determine what guidelines to follow as to what browsers members/visitors use.
But looking at my stats most people still use IE and at second place firefox.
So thats what ive been doing all along....checking if the site is compatible with both browsers.

As for themis...its known that the bbcodebox isnt fully working with firfox, allthough were talking about a few functions but its a shame that they dont work.
What you could do is install the firefox developers toolkit :
http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/
it can help you also tracking down errors and it shows you also where to find them.
And as for games...well,when java is included then the chances are high you run into non-working things with games as well.
