I've seen people sometimes recomment that instead of setting a cookie domain name to:

mysite.com or www.mysite.com set it to

.mysite.com (dot infront of site)

Is this something that helps the issue of the cookie not working properly incase someone types your site name without the WWW? I've had a similar problem and finally got all my users to change the way they go to the site (told them to type www infront of it everytime) But if I can help them being able to type either then that works. Just wondering if setting the cookie that way is what does that?

Shouldn't. Usually when a user is having a cookie problem, have them delete all cookies and clear their cache.
