Theme Logos

Ok here is the deal I run a nuke web site with a friend of mine... we both have limited experience but each bring our own strenths to the site.... the issue is we have several available themes for the users to choose from but only one has our site logo on it... now he created the logo which isn't an issue but he installed it where it is... now we have themes that others use and well they have the default nuke logo... he is now serving in Iraq and I am unable to make changes to these other themes... can someone tell me how I can do this... I'm sure its relatively easy but still, I haven't a clue... BTW I am a newbie here and pretty much to the nuke worls so Thanks for sites like this.. linke to the sit is www.ps2onlineleagues.com

Assuming the colors match and all you need to do is to get the logos in the other themes, in almost all of the case the main logo is named logo.gif. So if you look in the themes/images folder, you should see a logo.gif. Just replace that one with yours.

So I have done it correctly when I have tried this.... you say the colors must match,? Does the size of the pic have to match as well? Because I have managaed to get it in the correct folder through some trial and error, yet I still have same fefault logo... do I need to delete log file and it will automatically add my new one....

The colors and size are your choice. I just meant that I was only telling you what to replace, not how to edit the logo Smile

. As I said, most themes use the logo.gif, not all. Do a right mouse over the image and look at properties. That will tell you what the name od the image is.

Ok... I finally got them all corrected.. thanks so much... one more thing I need help with... I had a friend set up the site and I am always asking him to d/l a new module or block I find. Is there anyway someone can give me step by step guide to installing a module or block? I have read the read me text but in all honestly I kinda get lost by it and I have always had troublw with zip files... NEWBIES.... Rolling Eyes

... slowly but surely learning... Sites like this make my life so much easier... keep up the great work, I can promise you its much appreciated

Yeah I have read that and several others, I guess my inexperience limits alot of understanding in what I read...the problem I have after I unzip the files I don't know which ones to upload... I am trying to install the shout block, when I unzip the file I get these options- html, credits, change, read me, copying... the html is a folder which I can open and it shows- admin, modules, blocks, quiecom-shoutblock, images all of these can be opened to even more folders... I am really confused but feel as though I am pretty close to accomplishing this major handicap... in the read me text it tells me to do the following-
Step One: Place files on server (exactly which files after I unzip?)
Step Two: Log into phpnuke as an administrator (I understand this part)
Step Three: under administration/Qshoutblock select "install database" (not really sure about this)

Normally you upload everything in the html folder.
