Hi i have just installed nuke 6.9 and everything seemed to go fine ,,logged in fine as admin,,then logged in fine for forum/website
then new uses complained that they were unable to see any code displayed in the security login box , so i logged out of the forums and went back to login again, and the code appears ok for me,,so i though it must be a client issue, but then more members complained of the same.
so i logged out of both webby and admin ,,and low and behold there is no security code getting displayed in the box where the code should be.
yet if you login to admin ( the codes appear in that login box ok ) and then go bac to the forum/website login the security code appears fine.
i then tried another login block thinking the problem might be with the origonal block that came with it. but even after installing the new membership block the code still does not display ,, meaning people without admin cannnot login. |

bartman, have you checked this site's FAQs? It may have been addressed already.... if not, my appologies. By the way, since this is a new installation, why be stuck way back with 6.9? Why not use Raven's RavenNuke76 2.02 distribution? Comes with an excellent installer and with latest patches and NukeSentinel. A very secure distro.

I did a search for "security code" before posting and did not see anything related
I am using 6.9 because the main purpose of the site is like a war/tournament site and the module that is being used only works with 6.9, ( i already tried it on 7.6 , which i use for my own site ) and it did not work.
Anyway i seem to of "fixed" the problem ,,or at least i hope it is permanently fixed. due to the datebase being a pretty new install ,i just dropped all the tables and reloaded them and it seems fine now.
fingers crossed :S
However i have noticed another error which is there everytime i install the site using nuke 6.91b
in the admin section if you delete a members account i get the following error.
Quote: | Could not delete group for this user
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 2
DELETE FROM nuke_bbgroups WHERE group_id =
Line : 192
File : /home/clanvfor/public_html/forcewars/modules/Forums/admin/admin_users.php |
Despite giving the above error , the members account gets deleted ok.
but i am worried that this eror might be something bigger and cause probs later on. |

Unfortunately I have never heard of a 6.91b version, but it sounds like your version of BBtoNuke tables do not match your 6.91b files. In my opinion, you should not be getting any SQL errors. |

I got the nuke v6.9 1b from nukefiles in the download section
http://www.phpnukefiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&cid=67
you need to be registered to see the info , in case you arn't here is what it says.

Is there a better/newer version of 6.9 to download that i could try. saying as the database is newly set up i would rather have it error free at the start ,,and obviously somthing is wrong here,as i have intsalled this version 4+ times on 2 diff databases and still get the exact same error,,but having said that both sites are hosted by the same company. |

If the module is designed for 6.9, it should also work with 7.0 and higher.. probably up to 7.4. There may be minor changes, depending on the code checking that is needed for security
I really don't recommend using 6.x - there is no Patched file support for it.
You'll just have security issues and compatibility issues as more people move to 7.x
At least try 7.4 with the latest Patched files, that should work |
