I am working on importing all of my threads and posts from my old WBB to phpbb in nuke.

After I import all the data to the database, what else should I do to insure everything is working correctly? Do I need to update any statistics or anything? Optimize tables, etc.?

I'll be importing into the pbpbb_topics phpbb_posts and phpbb_poststext tables.

Pmoney, how did your process go? Optimizing tables would never hurt and could be valuable especially if you had to run through the process multiple times and used DELETEs to tweak the data....

Outside of testing all aspects of administering your boards and testing the various key posting activities, I don't know what else to tell you to try.

My problem is that I have all the posts and threads in an SQL file, but I don't have anything else. All of my old forum tables were deleted, I just had a backup of the posts and threads.

phpbb requires a first and last post id field for each topic, and my old board doesn't have this information. Someone on phpbb.com had a script that would write those values, but I would have to have the database intact to do so.

I basically gave up, it appears it could be done, but it is not worth the time I would have to put into it. There is no simple solution. I would pay someone else (depending on prce) to do it if you or anyone else is interested.

Yea without the other forums table, it would be hard to rebuild unless you know exactly how it was done. You'd have to get all the users and all the actual forums.

I don't understand why your backup did not include all the forums tables
