How too : Upgrade from 7.5 to 7.5 patched at 3.1

Can some one briefly explain how to patch a nuke site, do you FTP all lthe files over the old ones. I seem to have made an arse of it... Sad

Does the upgrade effect the SQL database?

An idiots guide would be ideal.

The patches are cumulative, and may required changes to the database, though that is rare. The best thing to do is check the readme that comes with the download. Normally, you just overwrite the existing files with the patched files, but that assumes you haven't applied any custom changes or added modules like NukeSentinel or NSN Groups that require modfications to the core files (e.g. mainfile.php) that are being overwritten by the patch. If so, you'll need to make those same modifications to the patched files before overwriting. It's a good idea to backup your site before uploading the patched files.
