Upgrading KISGB from Version 4.05

Am on a really old version of KISGB (version 4.05) - Anyone know what path to take to upgrade my version to the latest version please.

Please download the latest releas and read the docs/INSTALL file. It will tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks a lot for the update,

My guestbook had become a target for some script spammers who were creating spam guestbook entires for online pharmiacies etc. Entries were being created faster and fatster(going to 1 message every 5 minutes) and I managed to stop this once the upgrade was done.

I am a bit apprehensive now as a couple of blank entries have made their way to my guestbook which was the beginning of my problems in the previous version. I get an email when someone puts in a guesbook entry. For the blank entries, I did not receive an email for one of them. The other blank one, I did receive an email as such:

Just for curiosity, in the entry that you did NOT receive an email on, was the name field blank?

The entries are all blank including the name field - nothing there at all.

there are a few more in the 2nd page but I havn't investigated them yet.

Am starting to get more blank entries in the guestbook. The email I got from the last blank entry showed the following info in it:

It is similer to the issue I had in the older version of the guestbook. Any ideas on how to stop this would be highly appreciated.

Not sure if there is a quick fix for that, spam is a quite a problem for a lot of applications. One idea is a CAPTCHA, some others work on filtering by known block lists or bad actions. One thing that I have been trying is Bad Behavior, an addon for all kinds of PHP scripts such as blogs and wikis.
