It could be that those ranges are duplicated. Were these the only ones? |

Thanks for not posting the whole list...
Can you check your nuke tables to see if those ranges are included? If so, there may be duplicates in the installation. If not, the SQL for those ranges might not be correct. |

I have still not resolved this particular issue.. Is there a way to perhaps just drop the entire range data from my database and reinstall it.. I know there is an ip to country sql that is recent but I noticed that the ranges were the same in the sql file.. |

You would have to use phpMyAdmin to drop an entire country (using the c2c field). |

Thanks I did That. I dropped the range Yeman I used the ip2 country sql to uninstall the data and reinstall.. I was wondering why the actual data is diffrent I can post the ranges from the sql file and then the ranges in the latest patch for Sentinel.. I am just looking to solve the issue.. Its not a huge problem to me I just wish to make sure my sentinel data is correct.. Thanks again Montego |

Ok, sorry, I am confused. Can you please summarize again the sequence of events which lead up to the errors you mentioned? I want to get this right in case it is a bug that we need to report. Thanks! |

Thanks for responding again Montego.. Ok I will try and summarize my concern.. I have upgraded to the latest patch for sentinel.. When I attempted to import a country to block ranges I recieved a message stating Yeman was added.. Yet at the bottom I recieved this
80.88.132.248 - 80.88.132.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
82.114.160.0 - 82.114.191.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
195.94.0.0 - 195.94.31.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
195.219.27.0 - 195.219.27.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
195.219.29.0 - 195.219.29.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
195.219.31.0 - 195.219.31.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
195.219.37.0 - 195.219.37.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
195.219.65.0 - 195.219.65.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
205.160.110.0 - 205.160.111.255 was not inserted into nuke_nsnst_blocked_ranges
I thought that perhaps the data was incorrect or maybe like you suggested those ranges had already been added.. When looking in the display blocked ranges menu the range for Yeman was not added nor could sentinel find the range with ip search... What i did was I downloaded the latest sql for ip to country and compared the data.. This is the info in the sql...
DELETE FROM `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` WHERE `c2c`='ye';
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (1347978488, 1347978495, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (1383243776, 1383251967, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3277717504, 3277725695, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3285916416, 3285916671, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3285916928, 3285917183, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3285917440, 3285917695, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3285918976, 3285919231, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3285926144, 3285926399, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
INSERT INTO `nuke_nsnst_ip2country` VALUES (3449843200, 3449843711, 1109653200, 'ye', 'Yemen');
The ranges do not match.. or am I looking at this wrong??? Sorry for the long post but This also occurs with a few other ranges.. Also the country shows as an unknown |

Out of curiosity I'm going to run a compare on the ip2c sql for RN and those of the updated sql.
I'm only posting this fact here so I'll get an email for replies if I run out of time tonight and someone else beats me to it. |

The following seems to be the correct procedure.
I am using the IP2Country Diff file dated 4/4/2006 from nukescripts.net but this should apply in any event.
Using your ftp program, upload the new country data files into the nukeroot 'import' directory.
Depending on whether you are importing the ip2c data into the DB or into the blocked ranges you merely have to select the appropriate action from the Sentinel menu.
I imported all new data without any problems and note there was no new 'Yemen' country data file in any event so I'm not sure what's going on there.
Sentinel does and is supposed to drop exisitng table data when a data import is run, wether it is just a straight ip2c import or to blocked ranges.
Taking this into consideration, I can only conclude the issue is with code in the latest Sentinel release not dropping the table data properly during an import - I tested with the vanilla RN packaged version.
Now I guess I'll have to do a file compare of Sentinels files........... |

So here is my next question shouldn't the data that is in the upgrade file (imports) be the latest data?? Or do I just upload the actual sql and add it from php admin.. The way that I was doing the import was through the sentinel menu in my admin section is that not the correct way.. Thanks for all your time and effort..... |

The data files have the extension .data and should be uploaded via ftp to the 'import' folder.
The data is then imported via Sentinels 'Import Data' menu to ensure any existing data stored in the mysql DB is dropped first before reloading it with the relevant country data.
If there is a sql file that can be run (I have not had a chance to check yet) that will only import the new country data and includes the DROP TABLE command then that should work also.
Personally I prefer to import via Sentinels menu - now its time for bed for me as it's 3am here. |

Just an update.. I still recieve the same error message when i try and import to blocked ranges on a few countries the one I used as an example Yemen was added to blocked ranges,However I had to use the sql file in phpadmin.. The range still displays as unknown but It is installed in the database for sure.. As noone has replied in a few days I took the time to try a few diffrent things.. I was wondering tho.. Would it have been better for me to drop all the nsnst_tables and install as a fresh install.. |

Serafim, I am personally not ruling out a possible "bug", but I just have not the experience with importing the raw data files to really be of much use. I have not yet banned an entire country, as my site has relevance for all. However, that is not to say that if I start getting "pounded" that I will not hesitate to ban a whole country if I am forced to do so... |

Hey Montego I have solved this issue.. Im not sure myself what the exact issue was I do not have the expertise to figure it out.. What I did do was I went into phpadmin and deleted all the data for blocked ranges.. This gave me a cleared range database.. After clearing the data I once again imported into blocked ranges in the Sentinel control panel.. The data was installed with no errors this time.. I cxhecked all the ips and they show normally.. I thank everyone who helped with this error... But thankfully its corrected.. |
