"God" account login????

I have been having difficulty understanding "admins" on my site. I have a "god" account and created admin with this.

I tried to change the "nick" of my god acccount and now I cannot login to it. My host support was unable to help after tellling me they re-set my password.

I know the combinations of nick/passwords but i cant seem to get it. I use FF and tried in explorer with cookies/files cleared and same. In the admin login i enter the info and it just refreshed the page with no info in the two fields...

It is always *not good* to change a nick once an account has been created.

Lets take this from the top.......

1. Is you nornal user account and 'God' admin account using the same username/password combination?

2. If you answered YES make sure the username and password hash are both the same in the following tables;
nuke_authors
nuke_users
If they are different but should be the same, copy your username/password hash data from the users table to the authors table.

3. If you answered NO you can use the information in 2 above to get in using the same log-in user/pass combination for your normal user account.

4. If that doesnt work there is a bug somewhere (though 7.8 is full of them anyway).

5. Give up and install RavenNuke Smile

Thanks for the idea,

I did look at the two databases and I think the changes you refer to would work for "admins" but not the "god" account. I tried pasting hashes earlier with no luck.

What I did though, was change the "god" nick back to the original name and it let me back into the god account.
