Is there a idiots noob guide to doing a phpnuke website backup somewhere? So if your site got hacked or somthing you could simply fall back to the backup. |

eh...when you go to admin configuration....you never noticed the function Backup db ? |

I've found the 'Backup db' option in the Nuke admin panel is a bit buggy, so you could use PHPMYADMIN, or there are also a number of stand alone scripts out there that backup the database and email it to you.
Depending on how busy your site is will determine how often you need to back it up.
Always backup before you change anything on your site, just incase an upgrade, or new MOD screws things up. |

Ive never done a backup.... Do I just press the backup button and it saves my present website to my hard dirve or somthing? or somewhere in cpanel?
also there is a backup button in nuke admin and in cpanel? |

just click the backup button and see if it works for you..
and save the file on your computer.. |

ok I did it, It saved 1 file in notepad... Is that it?
seems to easy but Ive never done it lol I guess we all have to start somewhere. |

Ok I tryed to do restore the backup since my site was allready hacked again since I posted this.... Here are the probs I had during the restore of the backup.
I was at "SQL query" of phpMyAdmin I selected browse "Browse" found the backup on my desktop and selected it then clicked go
after a minute or 2 I got this error and everything on the website looks the same. Like i said before this is my first time trying to d this
