Usergroups not working and modules don't show up.....help

I'm using a new site I just setup a week ago using 7.9. I've used this same copy to setup my first site and it worked perfectly, all functionality that doesn't work now works with that one so I know it's not the install.

Here are my problems and I'm pretty sure they're related.

1. This is where it started, when I was setting it up I made user groups for the forums so users could request access themselves. Problem is when you click on usergroups, pick the group you want and click on "view information" everyone gets "Sorry this module isn't active"

I did some research and ended up bypassing this problem with NSN Groups. Sure I had to add people manually but it worked and I was happy.

2. Now I'm trying to add modules and when I do, they don't show up in the admin module panel. If I over right the files in an exsisting module it works fine.

Did some checking and I found that I can go into nuke_modules in the phpadmin and pretty much make my only line entry and then modules will show up...but now this leads me to my last problem

3. When I created the module entry manually I can admin it just fine...the problem is only ADMINS of the site can use it. Even though its set to all users or registered servers, anyone thats not an admin gets the "Sorry this module isn't active"

I'm sure all my problems are related and I'm dying because of this. I've spent so much time researching work arounds or fixes and I can't do it anymore...I need to fix the root of the problem. I'd just start over but I already have 200 users on my site and about 1000 posts, i can't lose all that and start over.

please help?

well my first question would be ...why the heck 7.9 ?
And why not install the ravennuke ?
importing posts ,users etc...is easy...so why make it so hard for yourself?

I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about php nuke or like products. If you're telling me that any block/module that works in phpnuke will work in ravennuke (including themes) without having to change anything and I can import all my users and posts over easily....I'm there!

im not saying all will work or guarantee anything...
but in your case we would talk about downgrading...lol

but with copy...you mean real copy of your site or copy of nuke you used to install your first site..
