i seem to have a issue with my sentinel 2.5.0
one of my users informed me today that he is getting a message from sentinel when he tries to visit my site. it tells him his ip is invalid.
i did a little research on this and im guessing this is a new but already known issue with NS 2.5.0
so im guessing i need to update my ip2country.
i went on ns.com and look at the 2 different d/l's they have for ip2c
but im not sure witch one i should use.
the sql one
or
the diff one
or is this issue even with the ip2c ?
i fiqured i would wait to hear from someone who's better than me what inside the sentinel is causing it. before i go changing up ns files.
thanx |

Just to clarify, did you load IP2 country when you installed NukeSentinel? If not, you should be able to use the installation routine to do that. |

it appears that the ip2c table does not have the data installed in it. sentinel tells me to click on "import data" to install the data
after doing so i get 2 options
Import to Blocked Ranges
Import to IP2Country
not knowing wth im doing i just imported both. i clicked on the "U.S.A" country as i guess you pick where you ( you meaning webmaster) are from.
but right after i picked my country i guess it did something automaticly as it told me everything was installed ok.
however i still could not click on the "ip2country " tab in the sentinel admin panel.
so i went back and click on "import" in the "import data" section for
Import to Blocked Ranges
Import to IP2Country
and i got banned from my own site lol. my ip was even in the protected ranges and it still banned me.
so i had to go into my db my dig myself out.
i droped the sentinel ip2c table
blocked ip table
blocked ranges table
i re installed them and they are as of now at default. nothing in them.
what is the correct way to install this ip2c ?
i guess i tried the install script way but it didnt work. or did i just do it wrong ? |

Just click on Import to IP2Country and import ALL the countries. NS 2.5 requires them all for some reason. |

I know. I wish you could select them all and import, but you can't. It goes sort of fast though. 5 minutes maybe? |

I haven't heard anything since reporting the issue - maybe it's time to take a closer look at the code. |
