I am using rn 2.02.02, all of a sudden I am not able to submit a story containing more than a few sentences. The only change that I have made was went into the db and manually changed the number of stories in home to 0 as I have a block that shows the news stories and to have it and the stories show up under it was kind of redundant I wanted them gone. I have since changed it back to five but the problem still pursists.

Where did you change the number of stories? There is a field in config table that is called storyhome. However there is also a field in the user table called storynum. I believe that if the admin lets the user override the general setting in the config table then the field in the user table is used. To start with you should make sure these are consistent.

I don't know why any of this would affect stories dependent on length though. How are you putting the stories in? Are you copying and pasting from Word by any chance? I'm just suspicious that this "bug" you are seeing may be unrelated to the change you made but if you let me know how the stories are being put in that will tell. Oh, I shouldn't be so obscure. I think there is a bug where if people copy in Word stuff with embedded styles or tables they are getting kicked out by some security code in mainfile. The code just does a "die" and returns you to index.php.
So let us know if you are doing that.

I have moved the post.

I would not do what you have done. There is an easier / better way to do that. Is there a different module, other than news, that you might want to have in the Home Page? It would be better to make that module the default "Home Page" module and leave your news module settings alone (certainly not adjusting them in the db), because, as you can see, PHP-Nuke doesn't respond the way you want.

However, back to the issue at hand. When you say this:

Quote:

What happens when you click on the submit button? Does it just take you back to the Home Page? If so, do you by change using the word "union" multiple times in the text of your article? If so, this has been addressed several times in the NukeSentinel forums.

Well, there are no other modules that I want to appear in home at this time. It seems as if there was one occurance of the word u nion in my story so I changed that and all is good now.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, it is something that is being worked on. For now, you can also choose to use a zero "0" instead of the "o" in the word so that it still reads right but just looks a little funny:

uni0n.

Yeah Montego. I was typing too.

Just to clarify about uni0n I believe that the problem is not actually with multiple occurrences (though I originally thought it was) but rather with uni0n with a space before and after it ... so multiple uni0ns would cause that but so would one uni0n embedded in a sentence. LOL: at my test site, fkelly.org, you can see a dozen uni0n stories.
